They all wore at least eyeliner. It was a custom back then for women to make and wear their own black eyeliner. They even put it on their baby girls everyday. This is still practiced today in the Middle East. Job even named one of his daughters after the eyeliner. The name escapes me right now, but it starts with an S.
As far as painting the nails, we know that Egyptian women made their own nail polish out of plants. Whether Bible women did or not, I don't know.

Sorry but I can't stand some of the answers you're getting: MARY MAGDALENE WAS NOT A WHORE. LOOK IT UP IN THE GOSPELS.
Well, I can tell you Jezebel "painted her eyes" and Esther used "cosmetics." I don't know more specifics.

Mary Magdalen was not a whore she was a loving and devout

Jezebel is probably the one you are refering to. She was a Baal worshipper and married to king Ahab. Ahab was a gutless sissy who permitted Jez to wear the pants in the family. She led the nation of Israel into idolatery.
Elijah, the prophet, her and her 'prophets' to a challange. He succeded in calling fire down from heaven.
The significence of the painted face was that the outside was as false as its appearence - inside she was dead mans bones.

Wow a lot of negative responses. Esthar did for sure, she had like the super makeover.
But why do you ask? I mean is someone saying you will go to hell if you wear makeup?

there was no specific opinion about that in the bible... but i believe a woman to look good and attractive, as well as additional beauty, and also for female's sake... i don't see bad against that, unless done improperly...

Forget about which woman it was, the question is did she use Estee Lauder, Avon or Revlon?
