A calorie is a unit of measurement for energy needed to increase the temperature of 1 g of water by 1 °C. Everything exept like diet coke has some calories in it. However.... You want to eat vegys and fruit becase they have tons of vitamins and fiber and good stuff for you body, think about the stuff you'd replace it with. Let me outline your options reall quick so you understand how good vegys are by comparison;
Meat; while nessary for you most types of meat have way to much saturated fat in it and not nearly enough of the good unsaturated fat. fish is better, and some meat is nessiary, but to much is shown to give people brain damage if they substute it for vegetables or fruit.
carbohidrates: theres some of these in your fruit and vegetables but what i'm talking ab out here is that white bread and cerial and stuff, now you should also have some carbs in your diet, but they don't provide the same nessiarly vitamins and minerals that fruit and vegys do.
Now for ths stuff you should stay away from just because (now we all have a little of this but try not to over indulge) simple sugars, trans fats and saturated fat, So basicly, potato chips, pop corn, candy, and deep fired food. Just think is this a healthy food, is it fresh, does it have an experation date in the next two weeks. those are good guidelines to live by. Anyway hope this wasnt to long. Dont stop eating vegys and fruit. lol.

Ohhh, there's calories in everything unfortunately. Unless you're talking about something like diet coke.
There's a lot less calories in apples and vegetables though than there are in most other foods. There are even less calories in vegetables than in fruits like apples, because often fruits have a lot of sugar which translates into more calories.
I always watch my calories... it's a major pain in the butt, but it works. I don't think you need to worry about having an apple in the evening or a salad. Although I generally try not to eat anything after six o'clock.
I usually count an apple as being around 60 calories, and that's overestimating. Either way, 60 calories is not a lot!
Happy counting!

Yes there are calories in every food(except for water and diet sodas). A calorie is a unit of ENERGY. The more calories something has, the more exercise you need to do to burn it off. Fruits such as apples have lots of fiber, so it fills you up quickly... Water, on the other hand, fills you up without adding to your calorie count.

Yes, there are calories in fruit and vegetables, although some fruits (ie melon) and vegetables (ie lettuce and cucumber) are very low in calories. You shouldn't eat too much of anything, but try to have 5 protion or fruit and vegetables every day. HTH : )

that's really uncomplicated those days to do a Google seek for and get a touch precise calorie chart for any nutrients or nutrients team. you could print out for instant reference or basically bookmark it. yet i'm particular that Powell meant the energy from fruit and vegetables aren't to any extent further fat energy. energy from fat are the undesirable energy you favor to count number, or dodge all jointly, because they're those the body shops (weight benefit) and the hardest to burn off. energy from end result and vegetables are regularly organic skill and incredibly burn as you struggle through your widespread day with out much better attempt... like the workout required to burn off fat energy.
