This really depends upon which island you are talking about, and/or which part Australia the island is closest to. As a general rule, the flora and fauna will be similar to that in the coastal regions of the nearby mainland, with a couple of exceptions. The Australian mainland now has a wide variety of introduced species like cane toads, rabbits, foxes, cats, camels, pigs, rats. Many islands off the mainland do not. The other difference is that some species that are now comparatively rare on the mainland can be more easily found on some islands, e.g. the quokka on Rottnest Island.

the northern part of Australia is tropical in nature.so the flora and fauna in Southeast Asia might be suitable to thrive there.
