Do you suppose the Colossians were really big people? lol.
just a little levity...please forgive me.

The Colossians were greek and jewish...they had a strong tendency towards spiritistic fanaticism.

.the greeks indulged in much speculation and philisophical arguments..

the Jews were advocates of the Mosaic Law and its dietary and sabboth requirements.

But there is no mention to their stature...lots of Jews are swarthy and of medium build.

They were not the giants spoken of in the bible....like Goliath ( whos name possibly means conspicuous) who was from the city of Gath , in the low plain of Rephaim.....Near Bethlehem....He was 9 feet 6.75 inches tall..he was a Philistine soldier who was killed by the boy David who later became king..

they were, some close to 10 ft tall. maybe that where the word colossal came from
