I never tried it, but a friend did, and it worked great, after trying many different things. She was on it for a few years, and tried to stop taking it, and her acne got bad again. As soon as she started it back up, her skin totally cleared up. She said its definately worth spending all that $, even if she has to use it for life.

My daughter use ProActive for 6 months. Her skin cleared and then she had a rest of using it for 3 months. After awhile of not using it her skin condition breakouts again and has started to use it again, after 3 days of using it, her skin start to clear again. It is not a lifetime commitment but you have to use it for at least a year and then have a rest of using it as you skin condition get accustome to it.

I don't know if it is a lifetime commitment but I know of at least 3 people who use it (with adult acne--which is not too bad, but doesn't make their skin look great either) and so far for every single one of them, it has worked wonders.

it works really well for my 13 year old daughter. She doesn't have severe blemishes.

It's hard to say about 'lifetime' it all boils down to the individual person.
