1) What is your style
2) How thick is your hair

The thicker your hair, the hotter the iron. I like the 1.5 inch for 60% of my hairstyles.

About the hairspray: go with aerosol if your hair is naturally wavy and you want it straight. If you use the spritz hairspray, it's going to get your hair wet and ruin the style.

According to my 3 sisters and a couple of ladies in my past, any curling iron works well, so just find one you like. Thicker hair takes more heat than thinner hair, so one with an adjustment would be a good idea. On the hair spray, my mother and 3 sisters all swore by Aqua Net for a firm hold, aerosol instead of spritz, if they even sell a spritz that is. It has been a while since I looked to see. When I had longer hair, years ago, I used unscented Aqua Net myself, so I know it works...

Aquage working spray (about $12), curling iron width depends on the length of your hair... The best brand for the money is hot tools, go to a Sally's near you and they can help you with the iron. The spray can be found at a salon

it depends if you want loose sort of wavy, barrel curls or tight springy, ringlet curls.
and then if your hair is long or short
well the best for long hair is a thicker curling iron about 1 1/2 in thick. and if you have shorter hair for bigger curls use an either 1 or 3/4 in but if you want tight curls go about a size smaller in either
as for hair spray, first put a bit of pomade in you hair and then curl it and use a spritzer of some sort
or use an areosol hair spray.
the best place to find them is at wal*mart they have nice curling irons for cheap
i bought both my straightner and my curling iron and they both work miracles on my thick curly hair
hope that helps

i have hard to curl hair and it sucks but a few years go i discovered a curling iron that was like magic. some salons use this brand its curlmaster and i bought it at sally beauty supply for less than 20 bucks it heats up really quickly and it curls my hair perfectly. as far as hair spray goes i like brilliant brunette a lot but if your not brunette the same brand has it for other hair colors it is john frieda. ;)

They have some cheap curling irons at walmart...If you have long hair I recommend the big curler irons..For short hair the small ones..Spritz and hair spray is the trick to holding a curl in your hair..Spritz is like holding spray. Hope I helped you!!
