I used to have a terrible condition of acne... a friend of mine gave me some products as a gift.. and what a gift it was ... i since then have been using these products and alll scars and acne have dissapeared .. i mean i still have a few but honestly it is amazing the results it has given me in such a short time.. i mean i used every singlething in the market.... nothing but nothing helped ... i used proactive, accutane, nothing they would all make me breakout more and overdry my skin .. breakout when using a new product is normal but the breakouts were for long time ... anyway, check them out they are botanically based and formulated with salicilic acid instead of benxoyl peroxide which is too strong for the skin ....they are called arbonne and i buy them online at: http://arbonnepuertorico.myarbonne.com you have nothing to looose, only some scars ;~)

I have terrible acne scars, but not many people can tell...
Just to cover up I use MAC concealer (in the pot for heavy coverage....Dermablend is also great) I then use a powder foundation (in my case MAC) to make everything look even, together these products cost about $35 and with heavy usage should last 3-6 months.
For longer lasting effects, though I stopped using it (cause I'm lazy) I used microdermabrasion, I saw dramatic results in four weeks. I used Olay total effects, which comes with microderm crystals and a lactic acid peel, the peel is usually what contributes to the most improvement. A drawback of olay is you have to use your hands to massage in the crystals and that feels funny. The treatment if done 3 times a week lasts 3 weeks and is between $20-$30 at any drug or retail store.
If you stop using the product chances are acne and the scars come back. Lastly I haven't done this but the fastest and arguably most effective procedure is laser removal costing several hundred to thousands of dollars depending on location.
GOOD LUCK!!!

It really depends on how deep and severe the scars. For light scars, an exfoliating wash will do (small granules); for medium, microderm abrasion will help (be sure you're not still breaking out - it can aggravate); for deeper scars, laser is the way to go.
My scars are more discolorations, so I use Rare Minerals by Bare Escentuals. It has natural ingredients that help healing and scaring (a night's use can help speed up the healing of a dried, flaky pimple like nothing else!).

The newest form of treatment is laser resurfacing, which can be done in the doctor or dermatologist's office. The laser removes the damaged top layer of skin and tightens the middle layer, leaving it smoother. This can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour and isn't painful because the doctor will first numb your skin with local anesthesia. It usually takes between 3 and 10 days for the skin to heal completely.

Microdermabrasion + non-ablative laser therapy + Chemical peels at the same time for rolling scars/indented scars/hyperpigmentation.....(Had this done and it works...I went once a month for 1 year)....... and for more severe scarring the fraxel laser is a good option.....Also check out www.acne.org for information on acne and acne scar treatments.

I heard a chemical peel and dermabrasion with a diamond tipped head. Be careful on the peel though, they say it will make your face SORE for about a week or so. If you truly want the best advice see a dermatologist and discus your options if money is no object.

Be careful which advice you get. It would be hard to speculate what caused your skin irritation, while some products may further damage your skin. Better yet, consult a dermatologist for an acnecare solution. Or, learn more by browsing this site http://www.upkb.com/acnecare.php for skincare tips and product details.
