My friend lent me his car. While it was parked at home, it got towed by the police because it had expired registration.
Because the car was my friend's, I called the station saying I was him ( gave his name) ( my bud told me to call in his name, he wanted no part in getting the car out, his reg was paid, his new stickers were coming in the mail ) and the cops were very rude, and I end up filing a complaint against the bad cop.
In the complaint I wrote that my friend called the station several times and did it from my place, after he got frustrated, he asked me to get involved. I had to write that, because I called in the first place saying I was him. Later on, I called as myself. In the report I wanted it to look as if he began the calls, and I took over, when I got in the fall out with the sargent.
Later on, a great sargent helped me out, once the DMV paperwork was straightened out, and the car was given back at no charge. The thing is that I got served with a court

... served with a court date, accused of violating section 529 od the CA pc....
What I do not understand, is that, after the good seargent returned the car , on my own volition, because of such great attitude by the second seargent, I volunteered to take my complaint back. I even gave the good seargent a letter describing my intention to decline the complaint. If the complaint was already recalled by myself, why would they pursue it?? Can I claim, first, which is true, that my friend authorized me to act on his behalf?? Second......because I took it back, before the charge against me came out, can I claim I was fully sorry and that is why I recanted my complaint??? if I took it back, isn't that fact make void any attempts to prosecute me for such childish behavior??

I said semi false, because all the facts about the officer's attitude is true. The only part I messed up is in involving my friend.
I began the calls to the station saying I was him. When I made the report ( I was so mad that I did that stupid report) in order to involve myself, because apparently my friend was the one who called in the first place, I said in the report that my friend began the calls, only then I took over, when in fact he never participated ( but yes, he gave his authorization, I just got carried away in the fall out).
But since I took the complaint back, from the other seargent, who accepted my recall, and, asked me to write a letter of explanation....since I did not follow the complaint, could that fact void their charges?? How could I be accused of smtg that I took back?? I did not follow with the complaint, I took it back, with the acknowlwdgement of the other seargent.
