Perhaps, if you are planning on keeping all the Jewish feasts, etc. even as Messianic Jews do. But if you read the New Testament, there is no need for a Gentile to first become a Jew in order to become a Christian! But it is quite reasonable for a Gentile who becomes a Christian also to learn and appreciate the history of the Jewish feasts, etc.
Well, as I understand it, there are Jews and there are the Goyim (the Gentiles).
A Gentile who accepts Jesus Christ as Saviour is then considered a "Christian" and most probably have recognized Jesus as the long-promised Jewish Messiah Who will, yet, receive the Throne of His ancestor David.
Jewish people (Jews by birth) who accept that Jesus (of Nazareth, born Beit Lechem, crucified and risen on the 3rd day at Yerushalayim) ... that Jesus is their long-awaited Messiah. Through the centuries much harm was done to the Jewish people in the name of "Christianity" and so there is hesitancy to call themselves Christians ... rather, they call themselves "Messianic Jew" of a "completed Jew". Of course many of the Jews who still look for Messiah seem to consider the "Messianic Jew" as no longer being a Jew ... thugh they were born an ethnic Jew.

I once asked that very same question. I was told by more than one Messianic Jew that I could not be a Messianic JEW. I could, however, be a "Messianic Gentile."
If you are anything like I was, then what you want is to keep some of the Jewish practices, because you see them as good ways of following God. I think there is nothing wrong with this at all. In MY opinion, if you want to keep some of those laws, then you should do so. They are very beautiful practices. You should not worry about whether you can be called a "Jew" or whether the title is "Christian" or "Gentile" or whatever. Those are just titles. What matters is that you follow God the way you feel you are called to do so.

You cannot convert to Judaism and then become a Messianic Jew, because Jewish belief is the polar opposite of Christianity.
Judaism is a monotheistic religion which does not believe in God having blood relatives, and Christians worship the trinity. The Jewish Messiah has not shown up yet, and the Christian Messiah has...
If you are attracted to Messianic "Judaism", you can worship with these people, as you share core beliefs with them.

messianic "judaism" is pretty much a continuation of nazi germany - its a bunch of christians seeking to eliminate the jewish faith forever. they are doing their best to accomplish what hitler failed to do.
do you want to become the equivalent of a neonazi? do you want to become despised by jews everywhere? there is a reason we call messianic judaism the silent holocaust, you know.
you might want to look a bit deeper into messianic judaism. who started it? a christian. where does it get its funds from? evangelical protestant organizations and churches. who are the messianic jews? mostly people with no jewish background at all. if you visit the web site of a messianic "synagogue" and look through its statements of faith, it will be the exact same as the statement of faith of any other christian church. which is weird because most christian beliefs are the exact opposite jewish beliefs - christianity and judaism have zero things in common. and every statement of belief will mention a specific goal - to bring the gospel of "Yeshua" to the jewish people.
