Some days after my baby was born my husband took him to get circumcised. I'm not sure if he went to a rabbi or a doctor to get it done. I mean to be truthful, I didn't want to be present anyway because I would probably have not been able to handle it. We talked about circumcision tonight and I asked whatever happened to my baby's foreskin. He would not tell me, but I really would like to know what happens to it, I guess I'm just curious like that.

Honestly, I would guess that if your husband took your baby to the hospital and had it done it would probably be tossed out with the other bio-hazard body mass. But then if a Rabbi did it it's possible that it's kept in a sacred little box or something.. i'm a Christian so I don't know too much about the Jewish tradition, but I do recall in that movie.. 'Meet the Fockers'.. there was that scene where they had Gaylord's foreskin fly out of the family picture album and into the fondu.. so maybe the Rabbi dried it and gave it back to your husband who is keeping it according to tradition or what not and wouldn't want to freak you out if you saw it. just a guess??

first off, the circumcision itself involves literally tearing the foreskin away from the glans/ head (the foreskin is naturally adhered to the glans at birth and although it separates naturally during childhood, it takes time). Once they are eparated, then they use one of many techniques to cut off the foreskin. Some internet research will give you details about the various procedures, etc.

Once the foreskin is removed, it might simply be discarded with other medical waste or it could be sold to one of a number of companies who use it to produce various products including certain cosmetics, new tissue for skin grafts, etc. Although there was always this joke around about the rabbi who used the foreskins he collected to make himself a purse. But truth be told the removed foreskin was probably discarded or sold.

Anything removed from the human body (even if a dentist pulls a baby tooth!) has to be disposed of as toxic waste. I'm not sure what happens to it once it is classified as human toxic waste; possibly it's cremated? No one has your baby's foreskin in a jar on his desk or anything, if that's what you're wondering.

They cut the foreskin off. The skin is then cremated if this was done in a hospital. This is also what is done with body parts that are removed.

Some doctors use the skin to make synthetic skin by reproducing the cells. This is used on fire victims instead of graphs.

It's being discarded. If they were to use it for scientific purposes they'd need both of your signatures. At least in USA.

I heard that they deep fry the adult foreskins when adult males have a circumcision... and they serve it in some places as clam strips at Hooters.... :) -just kidding.
