Obviously a matter of personal taste. Unlike the one presumptuous comment saying that you really wanted to say comedian, and the others that didn't pay attention; I'll give you 2 very funny girls. Current: Lisa Lampinelli (maybe misspelled), and way way out of the past; Rosie O'Donnell, who years ago hosted a VH1 show called Stand-Up Spotlight. She was a very funny comedienne in her younger days. I always figured she bought the rights to the show, because it's about the only old comedy show you never see or hear about.

There are too many good ones to just name one.

Steve Martin, Robin Williams, Paula Poundstone, Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy, Michael Keaton, David Letterman, Dave Attell, Lewis Black, Judy Tenuta, Rodney Dangerfield, Ellen DeGeneres, Don Rickles, Johnny Carson, Bob Newhart, Carol Burnett, Red Skelton, Ron White, oh I could just go on and on. Love a good comedian.

Peace.

No doubt about it, the funniest comedienne I've ever heard is Richard Pryor. You should get some of his work, or at least try and catch it on cable.

Tough call, as they have such a variety of styles. Rita Rudner, paula Poundstone, Sandra Bernhart, Julie Brown, Judy Tenuta.

But I go with Sue Murphy and her "Feklar" sketch

By "comedienne" you infer a woman, so all I have to say is Amy Sedaris, so damn funny.

Paula Poundstone is pretty funny. Sarah Silverman can be really funny too, but sometimes is too much.
