weave. A girl I work with has the cutest weaves however I get the feeling that she is trying to pass it off as her own and maybe I should just compliment her on her hair. I used to wear weaves and have been out of touch on new tecniques to making it look as good as hers. I want to ask or see her technique but how do I ask w/o offending or embarrassing her or myself. I asked who did her hair and she stated that she did, should I ask her to do mine since she is good at it, we only know each other from work when we casually pass each other.

I don't think you should ask her to do your hair. She may take it the wrong way since you don't know each other very well.

Instead, try asking her if she knows any salons or stylists in the area that are good with ethnic hair. Go ahead and tell her how much you like her hair, and ask if she knows of any places that might be able to do something similar for you. That way you aren't coming across like you want to copy her, but just want your own version of her great look.

I would just ask her who does her hair, then smile knowingly. That way - if she chooses to be phoney, she can save face, but if she wants to be real about it, ya'll can both laugh. And really, these days, I'm sure she knows everyone knows its just a weave. People are a lot less sensitive about it now, its more common, and more commonly accepted. Relax.

just compliment her... is it straight? or curly? if its curly ask her how she did it "hey i love your hair!! how did you do that?" i have a weave and it wouldnt offend me at all if someone asked me about it but if shes trying to pass it off as her own she might get offended

You know what? I suggest you to know her better before....because what if she doesn't want somebody else to look like her? I'm not saying you want to look like her...but she may think that..wanting to keep that secret to her own.
You never know my dear.
You know how girls tend to be sometimes.
