Try to sleep in a wood board instead of a mattress, take some tylenol, and avoid lifting, bending or any movements that can agravate the situation, you can also use a warm pad in the affected area, normally the pain will go away in a very short time..☻

After work, take a hot shower. And during work try wearing one of those icy/heat patches. Personally, they had mild effects for me but some claim they are really helpful. What worked for me was taking hot showers. I would take a hot shower in the morning and sometime early evening. Maybe its the steam or heat or whatever, but I would just feel completely revitalized after a quick hot shower.
Oh yea, and another thing is DONT be lazy. After a long hard day, nothing hits the spot like relaxing on the sofa watching tv eating snacks. Just watch out. Doing some activity, even it its just walking is good for your back.
yea, so overall try hot showers and mild activity....worked for me I guess, especially the showers
I dont know if this would work for you. It did because I had a disc problem with pressure on my nerve. What I would do is put my arms up on a bar and hang for a little while. This would elongate my spine a little bit and relieve pressure/tension. This is only if you know that you have a herniated disc.

The one thing you have to watch for is not allowing the back muscles to build up more on one side than the other.. this will create more problems for you.
It becomes necessary to continue to stretch those heavy muscles of the back.. one of the simplest ways is just to sit in a chair, feet around the legs of the chair.. reach around with both hands and grab the back of the chair and rotate yourself around, both ways.. If you lean forward a bit you will stretch the muscles higher up in the back.... try to do this at least 3 times a day.
Strange you would say a standard back pain.. I have no disc at level L.5, S.1 and have no symptoms..become aware of it when doing dishes or some forward position, for any extended time but no pains. It probably wouldn't hurt to spend a few minutes with a towel under your neck when lying down. May want to also check and see if you have any restriction of motion of the neck also.

Research back exercises for people who suffer back pain. I can not explain in an e-mail what you need to do. I have a back problem that was passed on by my poor father who suffered for years. Our different Doctors actually prescribed the same back exercises. They do build the muscles and help you to have much less pain with out medication. You may want to consider seeing a Doctor. How bad is it. Don't take a chance with the back. A professional is the best advice you can get. Make an appointment. Suffer a lot less.

Try Lakota on your back and you need to stretch. A lot of back pains are related to muscles. Lay on your back and stretch slowly, you don't want to aggravate it. Lift on leg at a time, bend your knee when you're lifting, do squats, again slowly, try your back against a wall and slowly sliding down, as if you were sitting on a chair. All those will strenghten your back muscles, And any kind of rub, if you can't find Lakota will help to alleviate pain without pills.
And don't sleep on a wooden board, your spine will not be aligned and you can hurt yourself even more. A proper mattress that gives where your hips are, when lying on the side, is much more comfortable and will help your back .

I use to have a lot of back pain. I have been going to an acupuncturist every month for 4 months now. The pain is a lot less and this is better than just temporary help. Some health insurances cover acupuncture, too.

Thermacare by Proctor and Gamble heat wraps. they are worn under your clothes and are fastened together with Velcro. They heat up in minutes, and last for hours; relaxing your muscles; without having to use pills. I have chronic back pain due to degenerative disc disease, and I have to take alot of medication; which I hate doing; so these do really work. You can find them at Walmart or Walgreens or any Pharmacy. Hope this helps you. If your pain continues to worsen, please get an MRI done so you don't end up disabled like I am.

My back always feels better if I take a long brisk walk. It usually takes at least 15 minutes of walking before the pain starts to subside. My chiropractor agrees it's a good thing to do. If I walk every day, I can go months without pain.
