In the scale of the Universe, the Earth is a tiny grain of dust, lost in the sea of space. And with UFO's, how likely is it really that an advanced alien would be interested in Earth and humans? Why must we feel this self-importance about our place in the Universe?
What are the odds that the creator of the Universe looks just like we do? Isn't that a little arrogant?

And don't get me wrong, I am proud that humans now have the ability to understand our true cosmic origins. I see our species as having so much potential. But it seems that our own instincts get in the way of our intelligence. Religion seems to be the root cause of that problem.

The Earth is important to us. We are important to ourselves. We're just a tiny speck of dust in the universe. If the Earth blew up in a millions pieces tomorrow, killing all people, it wouldn't be noticed by the rest of the universe.

Yes, humans are important in the plan of things in the universe and beyond to all the other universes. Man was made in the image of God in that man was given a Spirit (soul). God granted mankind control of the earth and allows man to go beyond the earth. God, not man, made man important.

we are the center of the physical universe because God created man in His own image.
The creator of the universe created man (and ONLY man), in His own image.
God makes it clear that the whole of creation (the whole entire universe) fell from being right with Him when man sinned, so that means that man is pretty important in the eyes of the one who created the universe.
with UFOs? What aliens are you talking about? The ones crossing the border?
It isn't arrogant at all. Have you ever heard of the anthropic principle? It has to do with how the universe looks like it was created with man in mind. Including a lot of things that aren't required for our lives, but make it so that we can appreciate what has been created.

THANK YOU! I've been trying to point this out to people, who the f|_|ck do we think we are? We are but mere dust in an expanding universe (multi?). We over think our importance, do we see ants worrying about taxes or bees worrying about the spring wear? No, we should just stick to what we do, don't even worry about death because if you can't figure out what you're doing when you're alive, why bother with death?

Why do you say "Really intelligent aliens"
Of course, God being a Really Really intelligent alien, and having thought of creating us in the first place -- may just find us interesting.
Each one of us does think a lot of themselves, but what is really important is what God thinks of us.
Many people have a low self image and do not think their life matters to anyone else. God tells us differently.
I think we should consider what He is willing to tell us.

Hell no, I don't live in the rest of the universe. I live right there. If I lived on Mars, I would think that Mars was the most important place in the universe. Because I depend on it for my survival.
The Bible tell us we were made in his image. Arrogant? No Not at all! Just a believer!
Why do you hate humans so much?

We think that because we are on the Earth and we value ourselves, most of the time.I mean, the world does revolve around each person from their point of view. The world revolves around me and when I die,my world ceases to exist. That's why we place so much importance on it.It's the only way we can look at it.

Ah, I admire someone with a broad enough perspective to dethrone himself, the human race and the entire planet. We sit not on a throne, but on less than a pebble.
