I think he went to heaven because he was playing a part that had to be played by someone and he did as expected of him, I'm sure Jesus forgave his friend Judas for what he did.

He went to hell because remeber after he recognized what he had done when he give Jesus to the people for money? He then later killed himself and the Bible says that ONLY God will give and take away lives. Judas killed himself and theres is no forgiveness for that.
Jesus Christ is a loving father but he is also strict. He forgives everything except two things : When you don't accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior, and when you kill your self...for a better word, suicide. I hope this helps and I did not make this out. I've been a Chirstian since I was born because my parents turned Christians 2 years before I was born.
Read the Bible, it's all in there. =)

Certain Jewish religious leaders who opposed Jesus did commit willful, and thus unforgivable, sin. Though they saw God’s holy spirit at work through Jesus as he did good and performed miracles, those clerics ascribed his power to Beelzebub, or Satan the Devil. They sinned with their eyes wide open to the undeniable operation of God’s spirit. Thus, they committed unforgivable sin, for Jesus said: “Whoever speaks against the holy spirit, it will not be forgiven him, no, not in this system of things nor in that to come.”
The sin of Judas Iscariot also was unforgivable. His betrayal of Jesus was the willful, deliberate culmination of a course of hypocrisy and dishonesty. For instance, when Judas saw Mary anoint Jesus with costly oil, he asked: “Why was it this perfumed oil was not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor people?” The apostle John added: “(Judas) said this, though, not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief and had the money box and used to carry off the monies put in it.” Soon thereafter, Judas betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. True, Judas felt remorse and committed suicide. (Matthew 27:1-5) But he was not forgiven, since his deliberate, persistently selfish course and his treacherous act reflected his sin against the holy spirit. How appropriate that Jesus should call Judas “the son of destruction”

i think Christians are to answer this one to insure a homogenous philosophy among the answers.
uhhh, i don't really know. funny reason to answer, but this is a big time question in my mind as well, and the best answer i have heard yet is this: speculate as we might, no one will know until the other side of eternity whether Judas is in Heaven.
My Ecclesiology professor thought (as do i) that it would be ironic if he was standing at the gate of Heaven to shock all of us.

a million John 2:19 says, "They went out from us, yet they weren't likely people; for if that they were people, they might have remained with us; yet they went out in basic terms so it would be shown that all of them at the instant are not people." we actually have no clue from a human attitude who's actually a Christian and who isn't. we are even able to self-deception. between the applications of trials and temptations is to style us out, this is, to tutor who's for genuine by skill of persevering. What makes a Christian a Christian is that in the event that they very own the Holy Spirit. (2 Corinthians thirteen:5) And if a individual does, then they're going to undergo because of the potential of God working in them. Bruce pronounced the example of Judas to make the case that a Christian ought to finally end up in hell. yet Jesus Himself mentioned of Judas before everything of His ministry in John 6:70, "Did i myself no longer % you, the twelve, and yet one among you is a devil?" Judas replaced right into a undesirable apple from the start, and he replaced into chosen for the point that he fulfilled. If a individual walks faraway from God, they have been by no skill for genuine initially, no remember how plenty they fooled themselves or others. Jesus mentioned in John 10:28 of His actual followers, "and that i provide eternal life to them, and that they shall by no skill PERISH; and no person shall take carry of them out of My hand." That seems fantastically uncomplicated and sparkling. specific some so-called Christians will walk away. yet no genuine deal Christian ever will. And God knows that's which, even nonetheless we can't.

He sold out Jesus so he probably is not in the best place, however, Jesus is the great forgiver of sins so I suspect Judas is not in a burning hell, as such.
I just don't think he will reach the celestial kingdom where obedient people will go.

I believe Judas went to heaven but not without first answering for his sins just like all of us do. My reasons for believing this are simple. I'm a parent, the Bible says God is our Father and loves His children. As a parent, there is absolutely NOTHING my child could ever do that would cause me to cast them away from me to eternal punishment. There is nothing I couldn't forgive and nothing that would cause me to stop loving them. I don't believe for one second that God has less a capacity to love than we as humans do.

If you are able to hear it, Judas is neither in Heaven or in Hell at this present time.
If Judas was Saved ( which he was not ) He would be sleeping until Christ's Return:
1Thes:4:16: For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven ( Rapture ) with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God ( the last Trumpet ): and the DEAD in Christ shall RISE FIRST:
As to the condition of Judas's soul at his death, it was not one of salvation, Even though he repented of his deed, even though he was extremely sorry for what he did, HE DID NOT ASK FOR FORGIVENESS TO CHRIST. If He would have believed the teachings of Christ ( which he didn't ) He would have known that He is the Son of God, capable of forgiving him of his sin, but he did not appoligize to Jesus, nor ask for His forgiveness, but went and killed himself.
He committed suicide, therefore Christ was not in His heart, for if Christ was in his heart, He would have had joy, and peace. and not the opposite. It is NEVER God's will that one takes his own life, NEVER. it is only the desire of the devil that people take their own lives. God has a plan for everyone, and that plan is NEVER to kill yourself.
i will tell you the Truth, if i thought for one second, that killing myself, i will go to Heaven, i would do it right now.
i am sorry if you know a loved one that has killed him/herself, but i will not sugar coat the Truth, One who commits suicide does not have Christ in their hearts, for Christ would never, EVER suggest someone kill themself, therefore it is not Christ that is suggesting that they do.
In His Holy and Precious Name, Jesus Christ
