I have been trying to gain weight for like 4 years and I finally am now- do this,
count how many calories you eat in a normal day, the next day increase it by 500 or more, do that for the week, and increase it by another 500 the next week.
Drink boost plus, you can get it at a cvs or walgreens, the vanilla flavor is the best. Drink 3 a day but DONT skip any meals. Drink lots of water and get lots of sleep.
But most of all, I think the boost plus' helps most

as for how fast, if you want to gain 20 lbs im guessing like 2 months, healthily

try to do it slow and healthy. eat your veggies and fruits high fiber /high carbs with lots of whole grains and proteins. at least some light exercise
turn it to muscle and it will stay on longer and look better.
try the 2000 calorie diet and add 500 more if you need with a shake or fruit smoothie .
do watch too much sugar and salt and hydrogenated or animal fats even if your trying to gain! or you could do some long term damage..

i never could gain weight either but i finally found something that worked, and i mean worked good. go to gnc and by weight gainer 1800 or 2200 gold. i gained 10 pounds a month on that stuff. its very hard to drink, you will feel sick while your drinking it, because it fills you up so much, its 2500 calories per serving ,but its worth it, it really works, and if you cant drink it all, just drink as much as possible. drink it right before you go to bed, eat as much as you can during the day, and dont do to much during the day, as in physical activity. you will gain 10 pounds a month or more, i promise. i went from 140 to 195 just by taking this stuff. it will cost you about 100 dollars a month, its worth it.

Protein shakes or bars are the healthiest way to go. Fastest way would be to eat fast food joints that use trans fat. Drinking alcohol and soda also would do the trick.
