Considering his name, Robert Stevenson, it could have been anywhere in UK/Ireland. Is there any way to track them online? I know its difficult tracking immoigration during the famines. Any info is appreciated

Ancestry . com is not a free site but they do offer help with name searches, but you can save yourself a lot of effort if you have a location within Ireland ,ignore the name derivation because the name Stevenson means just that son of steven, and is common throughout the british isles.
IT could help if you had another member of the same household or any english relatives. the census for ireland was disrupted and records destroyed but there are immigration records if you have the name of the ship that took him to the US, also ships records available. when checking the name use both spellings ,with a ph and the v, people changed the names as records became more accurate. Ancestry.com costs a few pound. Can't say how useful it is. Stevenson, not an Irish name definitely. Try both UK and Irish sites though. Run a search for Name meanings and you should find an origin of that name. It's a start anyway.

Why do you think of that we are on different boats. No, all of us are crusing on an identical ocean interior an identical boat yet regrettably our concepts, strikes, desires, acts, desires thoughts, and deeds are different. you recognize why?coz we are egocentric and stay for self basically, we can't care of others, we like ourselves basically and not all. Its why the boat is an identical yet we are different. thank you.

Try www. Ancestry.co.uk. It's a good site, and with some free info.
Good Luck
