Did your machine come pre-loaded with any word processor program like Microsoft Works?

If not, you can go here: http://www.abisource.com/
and download that program for free. The site says it is similar to Microsoft Word. Might work for you.

Here are some more:

Sweetheart. that is the name of the game. It lets you try it for free and then after 30 days or so, it will stop working.

When you buy the "real thing" it will come with the product key. It will be a series of numbers and letters ON the CD envelope. Without it you won't be able to get any copy to run.

Many programs, now days, require a product key to run. Sorry, Microsoft Office is VERY expensive, but un less you buy a copy which comes with the product key.....you are stuck.

Try Microsoft Word. It may be on your computer already.

Good luck. Pops

If you are a student and can prove it, I believe that M$ offers a significant discount to buy their product. Instead of $300+ for the suite, it about $149

Otherwise, you must buy a license at full price. If you try ebay, be careful about who you buy from because there are more counterfeit product on auction than the real thing

Try a program called OpenOffice.
It's free and I hear it works just as good as the MS suite.
I don't know for sure. I've downloaded it but haven't gotten around to installing it yet.
