The big question is
WHY AREN'T THEY?
We, as legal citizens....must show proof.....why any exceptions!

They need the Child's birth certificate, and proof of residence not the parents'. If the child was born here they are entitled to an education. Many of the kids of course were born in Mexico and it is causing over crowded classrooms in some schools in AZ.

When my daughter was growing up ,we always had to have her birth certificate and her immunizations record. But she always went to private schools not public.I think they should have to show proof of their rights to be in this country .It should be placed into law.
Here's what its costing my state of Arizona
Education. Based on estimates of the illegal immigrant population in Arizona and documented costs of K-12 schooling, Arizonans spend approximately $820 million annually on education for illegal immigrant children and for their U.S.-born siblings.
Here's California's costs
Education. Based on estimates of the illegal immigrant population in California and documented costs of K-12 schooling, Californians spend approximately $7.7 billion annually on education for illegal immigrant children and for their U.S.-born siblings. Nearly 15 percent of the K-12 public school students in California are children of illegal aliens.

I think yes. The Supreme Court (wrongly in my expert opinion) says if they are here we have to educate them, but I don't know that they ever said we couldn't ask and send them back where they belong.
Ruining our schools with overcrowding and immense ESL demands is the biggest issue I have with illegal immigration. If they kept their kids out of our schools, I probably wouldn't be anti-illegal, at all.
We have a law that says if people are here on a visa and go to school they have to pay tuition k-12. Shouldn't at least THAT apply to illegals?

Yes they should show proof of citizenship for the child. I'm sick to death of these illegal kids sucking up the space in the classrooms. I've seen plenty of kids that are citizens turned away to go to a different school because of lack of space in class.

I don't know what the law currently says. I think requiring proof of citizenship will deny some sweet kids an education.
