The Catechism. There not very expensive. If you have a question about Catholicism, jsut look it up in the back and flip to the paragraph number.

Also, Catholicism for dummies, newadvent.org (not a book but very helpful).

But your best bet is the Catechism of the Catholic church. Easy to use, and has all the answers right there. Shouldnt be more than 10-15 bucks.

The book Catholicism for Dummies is very good. Also, go to the St. Anthony Messenger site http://www.americancatholic.org There are many good article in Catholic Update, daily features and podcasts

A lot of churches do also.
Can't help with books, although used books stores have a great selection.

There is of course going into a church and talking to the people there...
