It's definitely risen to new heights in recent decades, but I'm seeing signs of a decline. What do you think? And does anyone know any relevant stats?

It is certainly not on the decline. But growth or rates of growth, I am not sure.

See this recent study:

It is not on the rise or on the decline!!! It is the same as it has all way been and as it will be until the end of time... It is the who/what that people believe in that is not the same. We are going from a belief in "One God" to a belief in: 1.)"no God"
2.)"A God(s) of who/whatever you think/make them out to be."
3.)"Man is God"
They are all religious. If you look up the word Religious you will find:** relating to or manifesting faithful devotion to an acknowledged ultimate reality or deity

Note the "OR" in that. Religious do not have to have a deity(God(s)) they just have to have a "ultimate reality"

It might be declining a little bit, but really, it's not going anywhere. Four-fifths of America and one-third of the world is Christian. They may be losing some people here and there but still, they're not doing too bad.

Catholocism is certainly on the decline. I'd say religion as a whole is just as strong as it ever was, however; just much more different now.

Religion is on the rise, but it is falling away from old traditional religions and finding its home in the new age crowd.

I would say on the rise, except for christianity. People seem to be leaving the churches to find their own path.
