Haggard is the pastor who tossed Richard Dawkins off of his church's parking lot in the program, "The Root of All Evil?" He was the founder & pastor of his Colorado Springs church and also president of the National Association of Evangelicals. Today he resigned from both positions.

You can read about it at a couple of sites:

BTW, The "Call-Boy" was 49 years old. He also reportedly has "evidence."

Oh, Good Grief! Another "He wasn't really a Christian" statement. Gang, Christians are different from the rest of us only in their secrets.

pretty pathetic that he had 14,000 people in his congregation and he still had to pay for sex! He must be a very unattractive man.

I remember him very well from that Richard Dawkins interview. I wonder if he's always that big of a jerk.

You know what the craziest thing is? This kind of thing honestly doesn't surprise me anymore.

I am as unsurprised about this as I was about the 9/11 attacks. I didn't know Osama was hijacking airplanes nor that Haggard was a closet shirt lifter, but when such events happen and the religious are involved, it really doesn't come as a shock. (Osama attacked the WTC in 1994, so it's not surprising he didn't give up, and the religious rationalize their behaviour even as they demonize it in others, such as homosexuality.)

1. He would not be the first Christian leader to suffer false accusations for the sake of political gain
2. He would no be the first "Christian" leader to be false and use his position for illicit activities and bing shame upon the Church

I do not know if it is false or true, and I have no way of ever knowing. I am glad that he stepped down immediately from his positions of authority, which leads me to think that he is innocent.
Contrast his action to those of Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart.
See the difference?

Where there is smoke, there is fire. Looks good, exposing the hypocrisy of those who point their fingers and condemn others' lifestyles.

Anybody remember Jim Bakker? Jimmy Swaggart?

"And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door."

I'm still laughing. I saw him in the movie, Jesus Camp. He came across as a dolt in the film, which he apparently realized, since he tried to distance himself from the movie.

Could be a publicity stunt. Who knows. I wasn't there. It could also have to do with money. Maybe the family of the boy is poor and saw a quick way to get cash. Wouldn't be the first time.

I don't know if it's true or not. Just because the boy-toy says it is doesn't mean it is, but, you never know, of course he is denying it.
