About the time our original 13 states adopted their new constitution, in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior:
"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship."
"The average age of the worlds greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:
1. From bondage to spiritual faith;
2. From spiritual faith to great courage;
3. From courage to liberty;
4. From liberty to abundance;
5. From abundance to complacency;
6. From complacency to apathy;
7. From apathy to dependence;
8. From dependence back into bondage "
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election:
Population of counties won by: Gore: 127 million; Bush: 143 million;
Square miles of land won by: Gore: 580,000; Bush: 2,427,000
States won by: Gore: 19; Bush: 29
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Gore: 13.2; Bush: 2.1
&nbs p;Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was mostly the land owned by the tax-paying citizens of this great country. Gore's territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off government welfare..."
Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some 40 percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase. If the Senate grants Amnesty and citizenship to 20 million invaders called illegals and they vote, then goodbye USA in less than 5 years.
Just something to think about........... And no, I don't have any suggestions. I don't see how we can just stop and change what is happening, as most people won't comply with the kind of radical changes it would take. We are the country everyone wants to come to. That is because we have the largest government ever devised, and it is more than willing to redistribute our immense wealth.
I submit if we disassembled this mechanism, fewer would come here illegally to take advantage of it.
Social Security, Medicare/caid, and all the other Ponzi schemes put together by our leaders deserve to be buried. They are outdated, socialistic programs from the 1930's.
Let the last millennium go.

Cats are no longer vocal by capacity of nature, different than for some particular breeds that have been bred to be companions. So the chatting they do ought to point many multiple issues. some must be noises they made with their mom as kittens. Kittens cry while they are lost from their mothers. Our person cats oftentimes hold kitten-like behaviors a million. using fact they are fastened previously they journey the hormones of adulthood, 2 interior the clutter is the place a cat learns his social skills and he consists of them with him by way of existence 3. and we as people want features that are juvenile, so we've unconsciously customary kitten-like person cats and those the place those that bred by way of the years. This creates cats extra actual tamed then their wild cousins. Secondly animal languages tend to particular thoughts incredibly than suitable words. i'm nevertheless uncertain of the chatter element. You people are nuts. Illegal immigrants are not the problem (and yes, there is a SERIOUS problem) with the US economy. Pointlessly huge spending on pointless wars coupled with tax cuts are one problem. Oh yeah, and the fact that the USA imports pretty much everything it consumes. And then people complain about immigrants and outsourcing? Welcome to capitalism, folks.
Let's try fixing our broken education system, giving industry a reason to stay here, reducing unnecessary spending and taxing INTELLIGENTLY.
Maybe, just maybe, if we do things like that, we might actually be able to pay back the TRILLIONS of dollars in debt we owe, and sensibly redirect taxes into programs that might help the people in America instead of building a wall to keep a substantial part of our economic base out.
Sympathizing with hardships isn't the point. Immigrants BUILT AMERICA. They continue to hold it together. This country needs to get its priorities straight.

The answer is to withdraw from the international community for a bit. That means stop fighting wars in the desert, spend the billions of dollars on American citizens and close the borders. If you have a shortage in a field (health field is extremely short that is why so many doctors are immigrants) then spend some of those billions saved from not fighting someone else's war on educating your own people to become self sufficient.
Of course, we won't do that, because it actually makes sense.

Our sick, disable and elderly are being left out in the mix. Their funding is being cut...why? Because illegals are sucking our nation dry.
Solution....if we can put a man on the moon, build hundreds of thousands of freeways, send out the Hubble satellite, we can easily deport illegal criminals from our beloved nation.
We can harass our leaders so they understand they work for us, not the North American Alliance.
We can send money to the Minutemen to build the fence.
We can report all employers hiring illegals.
We can picket, write, harass, embarrass, and otherwise get the attention to those who are so willing to cover for the illegals by creating sanctuary cities.
We can network via e-mail and share information that the media refuses to print.
We can keep each other informed and thus become a powerful entity which cannot be overcome by these leeches who have no loyalty to America...but to their own countries...the countries they fled from....the countries who despise them....
God Bless America.

I suggest that you calm down and stop trying to get people all riled up about nothing. Illegal immigrants have nothing to do with the future of SS. They pay more taxes than you or I, since they cannot get a tax return, and part of that is SS. They do not qualify for govt benefits since they do not have a valid SS number. In short, it is easy to stand on a soap box and proclaim that the "end is near" but in reality you are not doing anything to help us, only making some of us upset and angry.

Don't deport illegals, instead arrest and make them work only for their prison bed and food. When they become uncapable of working anymore deport them. America won't look like such a great place to sneak into then......
