Dogs are a lot like people; some folks laugh when they get nervous, or bite their nails. Dogs also have funny little personality quirks, this one is called being a submissive peer. That's all I know, some may have an answer as to whether or not you can train them not to pee like that, but my guess is she will always do it.

You haven't stated what breed of dog she is. If she is or has cocker spaniel in her, that is a natural thing. She'll out grow it hopefully between 1 year and 2 years. We had a part spaniel/lab that did the same thing as a puppy. She finally matured and out grew it. Take her outside more frequently and reward her when she does her pee's outside. Let her know that your not pleased with the piddles inside, then take her outside. Have patience with her...don't give up. She's still a puppy!

My mother had an agressive boxer that she had seen by a dog behavior specialist (I know, doggie psyciatrist right). She told her that when a dog urinates (more than a small tinkle) when gretting someone it is almost always a sign of a very traumatic experinece as a puppy.

my 6 year old dog does that to everybody. he lives outside though so in a way he can help it-- he just goes up the hill if someone comes home or whatever. we tell him no but he doesnt get mad-- he loves everybody. but, i dont no wat to tell you.....sorry! keep telling the dog no and if the next time the dog doesnt do it reward the dog....maybe a slower approach of certain ppl so the dog isnt so excited...

Try not to get too mad at her. It is a submissive issue she thinks of you as the alpha male and that is why she piddles. My rottie is 6 yrs and she does it every time my husband gets home from work.

Take him the vet tell the vet you told us. Don't look for useless answers here without a degree in veterinarian and a proper examination of the pet.

when you see her in the a.m., ignore her. make sure you take her out to pee before anyone comes over, etc. my dog did it, and still sometimes does. its a puppy thing. hopefully she'll outgrow it.
