many asian countries are not peaceful.
Have a look at Burma and Indonesia for starters. Asian countries also suffer many injustices.

I would like to beg the differ to what "Black Atheist" said, the Sri Lankan civil war is between the Tamil Tigers and the Sri Lankan military. And for those peaceful buddhist asian societies, they are peacefull because of the teachings of the Buddha emphasising good will and compassion, but, as everyone else has pointed out, Asia doesn't seem to be as peaceful as you think.

To the extent there's peace in (some) of those countries, and to the extent it is a result of Buddhism, it probably has more to do with the fact that Buddhism is an atheistic religion ... so there's no god to rally around or kill for.

I don't just believe that monks can do that, but any large group of people can have some kind affect on the universe. This is quantum mechanics .

Tibet is a strongly Buddhist country but all the prayers of the monks didn`t save it from communist China.

There was a coup in Thailand recently.
Burma is under military rule.
Nepal is in civil war.
Suicide was pioneered by Sril Lankans and a bloody civil war in progress for God knows how long.
What peace?

you do know that a lot of asians are not buddhist right? and even if they are, they practice different forms of it.
