It is their belief and they are praying. If their prayers are yeilded it is good only and there is nothing wrong. At least we should understand and appreciate their good intentionand trying for peacem, though there is no authantic evidance that prayers will stop war. Then why people all over the world inrespective of their religion and faith pray for something or other.

I don't just believe that monks can do that, but any large group of people can have some kind affect on the universe. This is quantum mechanics .

I think there is great power in prayer and meditation. So perhaps so. I also think that Buddhism is a very peaceful religion, and its teachings promote peace.

Are you talking about the war in Iraq or the Buddhist-Hindu war in Sri Lanka?
Buddhists don't "pray" anyway, as they are atheistic. Their path is not based on a deity.
