I don't think it is so much about calling those who have died "losers" but rather keeping those who are living with cancer in high spirits. He understands that chemotherapy for cancer is rigorous to both the body AND the mind, and understands that if people have a bright outlook, then they are more likely to comply with treatments and have a higher chance of success. I don't think he was trying to be a hero, but to those who have struggled with cancer, he IS one, and is an inspiration to them in their own battles. I think that it is a very positive thing to show these people that there is the possibility of a happy and fulfilling life outside of cancer.

He had testicular and brain cancer. He had it one other place too, but I forgot. It was in 3 places all together.

Everyone answer is correct started in groin with one of his testicles. But it spread to a lung, stomach (abdomen) and brain. He had surgery . Had tons of chemotherapy ...because he was in such good health, his body fought the cancer and he's been doing well ever since. He also was the first celebrity to come out with yellow rubber bracelets that said "Live Strong"... the proceeds to go to researcher to find better treatment for cancer.
