The few times I've sat in court (waiting for someone else), I've seen that the judge is most helpful to those who are honest and straightforward.

If you tell the truth in a short statement, make no excuses (absolutely none, even if they are true), apologize, and explain how you will (or have already) fixed the problem, you will have the best chance at being treated well.

A judge sits and listens to whiners and excuse-makers all day long - if you aren't one of them, that's a good thing.

U r screwed. Happened to me the same iN nY and over here they suspend ur license for one year and 1000 $ fine, but i hired a lawyer
and cop could not remember why he pulled me over so i was freaking lucky.

Or u can do is use Adobe Photoshop Take any insurance card change dates make it look good and then show it to the judge they will not call ur insurance company to confirm so its one option if u have guts do it.

I was scared to do it.

Been there done that, trust me, nothing you say will get you off the hook. Unless you can prove you had insureance at the time you were stopped.

Explain why you did it and be honest. Judges see criminals, scam artists, liars, thieves every day so they understand human behaviour and if someone is lying.

Be straight with the guy and tell him it was a one off and that it will not happen again.
