Nissan are a Japanese company. In the UK we have a Nissan plant in Sunderland where various models (Almera and Note) are assembled (although they would still be considered to be a Japanese car). The Navara pick-up is manufactured in Spain and shipped all over the World. The South African version of the Navara is the Nissan Hardbody and it comes with a 3.0L TD engine instead of a 2.5L (they also make a big petrol one there that isn't available in Europe). There is a Nissan badged car manufactured in South Africa just for the local South African market. Car manufactures produce cars that suit the local market, so the Nissans in the US will be built for the US market - i.e they would have big petrol engines and automatic gearboxes. Not all of the parts (especially engines) will be Japanese.

Nissan is a Japanese company, but nowdays many are made right here in the U.S. You can tell from looking under the hood and on the data tag will say "Nissan USA" if made here, or Made in Japan if not. Either way, no matter which location, they are essentially the same quality.
