It is not MY catagory, but it is OK to ask your question here, it is an etiquette question. If uncle already has everything, find a way to spend time with him. Take him to a movie, or out to a nice restaurant. Does he play cards, or chess? Maybe you could play him a game, or maybe he would like to teach the nephew how.
Invite him to your place for a meal, and some conversation. You did not mention if he, or you were single. If he is single, and liked the meal, send the leftovers home with him. Make him a gift of a favorite sweet or snack to take home. Cookies, candy, a couple pieces of the birthday cake. If he is married, gift certificate to his favorite restaurant. Does he still golf? Same thing, take him out on the links, or gift certificate for a round on you. Note I did not ask if he played golf, I just assumed a judge did, or used to..
Maybe some movies about court cases. Tape some old Perry Mason shows off the Cable, and give them to him. Do some research, and find a classic court movie.
Gift certificate to get his car detailed. Or go wash and wax it yourself.
Make an appointment with him, and show up with his favorite fast food.
Hope this helps, and happy birthday to the judge.

People of that age still communicate by snail mail and unfortunately, their friends and family are passing away. So, that in mind, put together a basket with nice stationary and pens. Add to it stamps and greeting cards for every occasion, weddings, loss, congratulations, birthdays.
You should be able to put one together for under $50.

You can get cards for a good price.

Think about his hobbies or things he is interested in.

Most all will have a related book that will be of interest to an interested reader.

When you get a list of a couple of things......i.e. antiques, coins, stamps, history, flying etc. then head to Amazon.com and check out the list of books you could afford.

I had this wonderful idea, then I looked down and crazymom had the same one. Elderly people really appreciate stamps - heck, everyone likes to have them around. At 81, they usually have everything else they need.

I imagine your uncle has everything he wants and needs, so why not take him to a movie for Christmas and give him the gift of your company?
