sometimes when you get cold at night people get what we call a crick in the neck, it is very painful and really only time will heal it, but heat will help, tylenol will help and a nice hot shower right on the neck will help. try to stay warm during the night. Some people believe that it happens during a bad dream that we jerk the neck while dreaming, I dont know. I hate them...

As previously mentioned, hot and cold therapy.
About 15 minutes each. Hot first, then cold. Probably 2-3 times per day until you are well.
I use a heating pad for the heat or a hot moist towel. Cold packs are good or a frozen bag of peas.

no heat.... and it's not a sprain. You might have strained a muscle...small difference in the spelling but a huge difference to a medical practitioner... use some ice for the first 3 days. After that you can use heat and be stretching it... it'll go away...

you would be able to desire to bypass to the emergency room NOW, as Leona reported neck injuries do kill human beings a week, lot of persons, you could attempt an arm sling nonetheless, and if the soreness persists than you desire a doctor
