Veneers are porcelain facades for your teeth. The teeth get filed down a small amount, then an impression is taken which is used to make a model of your prepared teeth. Then a laboratory technician fabricates the veneers in the desired shade, shape and esthetics. The are a great option for correcting teeth that are heavily stained (usually from internal staining like tetracyline), crooked, chipped, crowded and/or filling in gaps between teeth. Once you get Veneers; however, you are committed to having them for the rest of your life. Once your teeth are filed down, you will always need something to cover them from then on. Veneers typically last from about 10-15 years. That is just an average. There are many that last much longer than that (especially if you maintain them well). So you need to factor in the fact that they may need to be redone in about 15 years. On average, veneers cost around $900-1000 per tooth. However, depending on where you live, they can cost up to $2000 per tooth or less than $900. If done well, by someone who has a lot of experience with them, they can look very natural. They tend to look more natural than crowns because they can transmit light better than a crown can (because a crown usually has a metal understructure), making them look like natural teeth. You need to know that you have to be very careful with veneers, they are sturdy, but fragile at the same time. You will have to avoid biting down directly with your front teeth (especially into bones, corn, anything hard) and you should also wear a protective guard over them at night to ensure that they last as long as possible. Hope that this was helpful!

a veneer is a thin layer of porcelain that is layered and contoured to enhance your smile. they will look natural if done properly. veneers can be used to improve your smile line, and to change the color of your teeth, for example if you have severely stained or discolored teeth. I personally don't like the cerinate lumineers.
I would recommend going to the website for the american academy of cosmetic dentistry ( www.aacd.com ) and find a dentist in your area. Dentists that are certified through this organization must pass stringent testing that takes several years. Make sure that when you go in for a consultation that you ask to see actual photographs of cases done by your doctor and his laboratory team. The cost is about $1000 per veneer, but can vary depending on where you live. Good luck to you!

I believe they are generally made out of porcelain and they are shaped and placed over your teeth. Your teeth are usually first drilled down a bit to ensure a snug fit and strengthen the veneer. They look very natural. They match them to your exsisting teeth color and they even file in little indentation so they appear natural. I hope they last a long time!!! I had mine done about 5 years ago. I heard they can last for 20 plus years. They are expensive and it is very important to go to a dentist that is specialized and good at this. They are permanent, meaning that if one comes off because it was placed wrong etc., you will be left with a filed down tooth until you replace it. They run about $1000 a tooth.
Overall I absolutely love mine. I get compliments on my smile everyday now, when I used to hide my teeth. My front teeth had a gap and chips.

Veneers are made of porcelain and done with minimal prep to the tooth. They do look natural if the dentist knows what he/she is doing. I have seen good ones and really bad ones. Do your homework to find the best dentist in your area. My Doc. will do a wax up of your teeth and show you what he thinks will work best for you long term and give you the best bite. They run about as much as a crown $900 up per tooth and if done right and you take care of them, reg cleaning and home maintains they should last approx. 20yrs

First off, a 'night time look after' isnt going to support whatever... on the subject of combating. Night guards foremost intent is to hold your jaw/enamel in align for security towards grinding at night time. They are fully exclusive than 'Mouth guards'... that's what you have got to defend your mouth and enamel. Buy a mouth look after, from a shop (even though, in workplace (dental) customized made guards are larger), warmth it up in scorching water, then location it into your mouth and chew into it till it cools. This method it will have compatibility for your enamel, simplest. It'll HELP defend your enamel so much larger than a look after now not becoming, and simply bouncing round loosely on your mouth. Key phrases regardless that... HELP PROTECT..!!! NOT... a assurance. Enamel could be very powerful... Porcelain veneers don't seem to be as powerful! You need to do not forget 'Veneers' are only a skinny overlaying.

They take impressions of your teeth..... the final product, the veneer its self is made of porcelain. Do they look natural?.... If done by a dentist who really knows how to do cosmetic procedures they look GREAT ........ The cost can go from anywhere from 3000.00 to - who knows 10,000.00 It all depends on how many you need.
