A fruit is a homosexual person or some one that likes the same sex and a vegetable is someone who has no brain function and can not live a normal life. Just kidding.
A fruit has visible seeds like an apple, orange, watermelon, cucumber, tomato, or squash (fruit doesn't have to be sweet).
A vegetable is all the other types of the plant that we eat that you can not see seeds like roots or leaves ( lettuce, cabbage, carrots, potatoes)

According to Dr. Dictionary:
A fruit is actually the sweet, ripened ovary or ovaries of a seed-bearing plant. A vegetable, in contrast, is an herbaceous plant cultivated for an edible part (seeds, roots, stems, leaves, bulbs, tubers, or nonsweet fruits). So, to be really nitpicky, a fruit could be a vegetable, but a vegetable could not be a fruit.

Fruits have visible seeds. Which is why a tomato is technically a fruit.
