this is one thing that I find truly terrifying.
no, not the hell part. I know that doesn't exist.
what is scary to me, is that some christians actually believe its just, to punish a person with torture... for eternity!
I mean I'm Jewish, and I do not even think that it would be justice for HITLER to be punished for ETERNITY. ... a really really long time, sure. .... but eternity? c'mon.
remember that not only do these people believe in this... but they believe its fair. ... and that is scary.

Like most religions Christianity attempts to scare people into submission by threatening them with some kind of eternal punishment for non-conformity, in this case, eternal damnation.
But a rational person interested in logic and commonsense has to ask them self if an all-loving, all-powerful, all-compassionate God would condemn anyone for all eternity. The bottom-line is obvious, it wouldn't as to do so would be the ultimate cruelty. To do so would make any God the ultimate sadist.
It's interesting to note that the concept of Satan and Hell-fire didn't come into existence until the early Christian church had trouble getting pagans to abandon their ways and accept Jesus. Basically, much like today, people had to be threatened into conformity. Hell and Satan are just theologial examples of an imperfect religion made up by equally imperfect people to control the lives and actions of other people.

Eternal punishment is torture. It's cruel and unusual, simple as that. There's no way to justify punishing someone FOREVER. I don't care if they killed a million people; a punishment is supposed to have an end so that you have the opportunity to learn your lesson. People like Hitler... punish them for a thousand years, a million years, a trillion years, but forever? That's ridiculous.
The people who believe in "eternal punishment" don't fully grasp how long "eternity" is. There is nothing you can do on Earth that makes you deserving of that. Nothing.

Eternal damnation does really exist in the form of hell. Hell means in the Greek and Hebrew grave not a place where you burn forever. At the end of this earth age God will judge everyone and send them to heaven of the lake of fire to be destroyed and forgotten[like you never existed]. The choice is up to each individual.

God is HOLY. Sin separates us from God. We choose to reject God when we sin. Sin is disobeying Gods Word, which is God breathed.God wants you to be the church, yes you, your body, your spirit and your soul. He wants to live in you. Evil can not live there and God too. You must surrender your body a holy living sacrifice to God. You must believe what His word says. In the beginning was God, Love. There was nothing but that Love. It was so powerful that it began to create by speaking. If you will ask God to come and live inside of you, He will . God is Spirit. A Spirit of Love. You must be born in the spirit. The new birth. Now you will be love. You will go thru a process of maturing in your spirit. After a few short years you will be grown in your spirit if you read His Word and worship Him in spirit and truth. He is the truth, the life, the way. He will teach you these things. Find time alone with Him. Seek Him and live in Him.do not reject Him& go to hell. God does not send you to hell. He can not go against His Word. His Word says if He does not know you, you will be cast into outer darkness. The lake of fire is forever but you send yourself there when you reject God. You made the choice. It is for eternity, never ending. There is one way in and no exit. This life is a preparing place. Heaven will be a place to worship God, if you do not worship Him here You will not go. The devils job is to keep you ignorant so you will not cry out to God. The devil was created the most beautiful angel but he went against God and was thrown out of heaven for trying to get people to worship him and he is still doing it today. He has 3 tricks to make you reject God, lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, and the pride of life. Life is not about us, it is about God. Go to publish america.com and order the book called "FINALLY!The Amazing Secret About Life That Very Few Know." It will answer a lot of questions for you.

Yes, it really exists. That's what repenting is, you confess your sins and believe. It is justified because Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit. The bible does not say if you sin you go to hell. It says, "If you say to someone 'you fool!' you are in danger of the fires of hell." If you knowingly and purposefully blaspheme the Holy Spirit that's a different story. Hitler was a Christian, wasn't he? He killed Jews because he thought it was right. If people don't believe, after all the healings, and everything, they deserve it. In fact, we all do. But God sent his Son to die for us, and gives us a choice to believe so we don't have to go to hell.

I hear you. That's why the laws of karma and reincarnation make sense to me. You have an infinite number of chances to get it right and until you do, you keep coming back.
The real Hell is right here on Earth.

Excellent question that deserves an answer. Please read "A Case for Faith" by Lee Strobel. You don't have to read the whole book, just the chapter on "Why would a loving God send people to hell." You may not agree with the answer, but it will help you understand where that Christian belief comes from.
