Was reading a guy's profile on another site and he said that he did not want any women contacting him who lived in low income areas. My question is, would it matter to you where a person lived? Especially the person you are dating.

I would consider this a blessing, anyone who is so shallow isn't worth the time it takes to contact them. Good luck!

Everyone has standards and personal preferences. Maybe this guy wants a girl that has money so he doesnt have to support her? Maybe it's because of a past experience? I don't know the entire reasoning why he would put that on his profile, I can't speculate.

Some may call it shallow or materialistic, but we have to respect people's preferences. I personally don't want to date anyone who doesn't have a job or an education. Is that wrong? Absolutely not. Some people have physical preferences and only date skinny people. Or short people. Whatever it may be, it's just a personal standard.

As far as me, a person that lived in a low income area might mean a few things so I would be a bit hesitant as well depending on the circumstance. I'm 24, so if the guy was 25 and lived in a low income area... I would not date him. That shows a lack of goals in my eyes. Like why isn't he making MORE out of his life? What kind of job is he working? Has he graduated from college? The reason I ask this, is because I don't want to support a man. In my eyes, a relationship is a team effort. Now if I was younger, let's say 15 and the guy was 16 and lived at home with his parents, it wouldn't bother me. But, family backgrounds do matter to a lot of people. So it might bother someone else.

It's all a matter of what we look for in a partner. Whether it be physical, intellectual, family, etc.... we ALL have personal standards for dating.

No, it wouldn't matter to me unless his house was filthy and falling down. The way a person cares for their surroundings says a lot about them personally too.
