My first child was the same way. I didn't have the feeling with my second. You probley are just tired from you the child you already have. Good luck and God bless your labor.

I don't really know... I am 38 weeks pregnant too and while I DO have an urge to "nest"... I just have no *desire* to actually get up and do all that cleaning. LOL. I really think about all that could be done and should be done... but, then I go "I think I will just lay down for a minute first before I start"... next thing I know, its 2 hours later and I'm waking up and don't feel like doing anything anymore.

With my only pregnancy, I set up the whole nursery with a futon for me (dad thought I was crazy), washed/folded/hung the entire wardrobe (again!), washed the carpets and walls BEFORE setting up the nursery. After that, I went into labour GRADUALLY.. I mean 52 hours of being stuck at four centimeters! oh, it was fun. Since it's been five and almost a half years, yes, I could probably do it again in a BIGGER home. This one is far too small now with the piles of toys!
Good luck! If you are prepared already (ie nursery being set up.. all the clothes bought) you may not even go through nesting.. as I do believe it's also got to do with the nervous/anxious feeling of being totally prepared for the unexpected/unknowing. Now that you are "experienced", you may feel at peace and knowing what to expect.. :) Also, you do have a second that is wearing you out, I assume.. :)
Congrats and again, Good luck!

I had the same feelings with my first. With my second it was all new again because it was five years later and I had to get everything again. I more had the nesting feelings around six months, and then just tired at the end. Don't worry. If you know your house is ready, then so does your body and it needs to rest before it delivers that baby. So enjoy the time before the sleepless nights start up again.

First off, congrats! You're going to be a mommy! And yes, these moods are pretty common, and it's got something to do with your hormones.
When I was pregnant with both of my children, I HAD to have baby shoes and nessecities, and generally get ready for the baby even though it wasn't due for a long while.
Again, congrats!
