I takes about 15-20 minutes before I start to feel myself relax. Keep in mind that everyones body responds differently to certain types of drugs. Some are more sensitive than others.

Happhyha is right, unless its injectable, it takes a short while. Just keep busy for 20-30 minutes and you're (or they) are fine. I take it daily and as soon as I take it I'm better, but not because it started working, but because of the Placebo effect. I took my meds and now I know I will "soon" feel much more placid and calm, so I just calm down quickly even before I really start to feel it.

No oral medication will work immediately. It has to absorb into your system.
