My sister is calling herself a Nansen, I'm curious as to what it means, can you help me out?

Nansen was an explorer, Norwegian I think. There is nansen environmental group. Could that be what she is talking about?

You didn't ask your sister? Hmmmm
Nansen is a nobel prize winner, a noted explorer and a fascinating person, but he isn't your sister, so that's out. Sen is an honorific in Japanese -- is your sister into karate or anything of that sort?
other than that, I'm out of guesses.
