In a sense a child molester or rapist did murder. They kill to the very soul of the person they commit this crime on. They take away the innocents, trust, mental well being, etc.
Where as a murderer can be two men in a bar that get in a fight and someone dies, it was not planned, it happened in the heat of an argument. I might murder if someone molested my child because somethings in life can cause temporary insanity. Now a murder just to be murdering is a whole new thing. I think you have to be crazy, mentally ill, whatever. Maybe its someone who was molested as a child and it took its toll on them mentally.
Know matter how you look at it..rape..molestation...murder...is all pretty terrible.
I think its impossible to declare which is worst, its all horrible.

I feel it is the same as murder because you killed the life that the child would have had. A part of them dies and they can never get that back.
A person who rapes and molests will always be as bad as a muderer, even if they did it only once and changed there ways. If you did it, you did it, and you are just a bad and disgusting as a person who does it everyday of their lives.
As far as drug trafficking being along the same line as that...there is just no way. People choose to do drugs. They choose to find the dope man and waste their money away and kill themselves. Molestation and rape survivors don't have a choice, murder victims don't have a choice, but crackheads do.

To some victims, recovering from rape and the entire court experience may parallel murder. But, as long as there is life, there is hope. And time heals many wounds.
Kidnapping is stressful on a child. In CT, any parent can take the child away from the other, before there is a custody order. And it is not a crime. But it is a very streeful experience for a child, you aer right. It does amount to abuse, although the court will not see it as that because the parent did nothing "illegal" The laws aren't always morally rightful.
Great post!

i dont know where you got your statistics from but you cant be reformed from being a murderer or a rapist/child molester. Jail does not rehabilitate you. In proven studies 85% of prisoners who went to jail for rape/murder and were released end back up in jail for doing it again. But to answer your question I think they are both bad if you murder your *** should get the death penalty if its self defense thats a different story. If you rape or moleste a child i think you should get the same thing why give thenm the lap of luxury of sitting in jail getting free meals, watch tv,make phone calls, get visitors, and have no bills to pay.But this is just my opinion and a person that does that to a child should be put to death.

I think child molestation and rape is just as bad as murder in my opinion. Most victims of rape, child molestation, incest they don't always recover and the criminals of these crimes do not change and they should be murdered. I don't condone murder, but, in some cases to protect someone or yourself I think its okay.

Child molestation and rape is worst than murder because the victim is oftentimes destroyed as a person. Murdering a person is an instant death for the victim but rape and molestation is carried by the victim for life and it is a gruesome experrience.

Hmm. Child molestation/rape is definitely worse than murder. At least the victim of murder is gone and doesn't have to face any pain. Victims of child molestation/rape suffer more than victims of murder, because they have to live with the fact that someone wanted to have sex with them against their own will.

Rape, molestation and murder all fall under the same category & are all as bad as each other.
They are a breach of unlawful harm against another being.
No one has given permission to be molested, to one has given permission to be raped and no one has given permission to be killed, so no one has asked for it, why does the offender proceed to do it?

Given that murder could be as a result of self-defense, or from listening to Britney Spears, it is quite different from rape, which is almost exclusively pre-meditated. However, with the exception of self-defense, the objective of these crimes is to permanently hurt people to some extent, and should be punished accordingly.
If you hurt someone else intentionally - physically or emotionally - you get the death sentence. Oh, by the way - it doesn't matter if you are male or female - the punishment should be the same.
If you hire someone else to do the hurting, then you get the death sentence as well.
The whole concept of "Temporary Insanity" or "XXXX told me to do it" should be abolished. If someone isn't going to be responsible for their actions, then they don't belong in a healthy society, and I don't want my tax money used to keep them alive.
Interesting point to note... I think I just sentenced the entire world's military forces and leaders to the death sentence... oh well :-D

I don't think you can compare them per se because their elements are so different, but you can definitely say that they are two of the worst crimes in the world.
Personally, I think child molesters/rapists should have to wear a uniform in prison that includes a "I hurt children" t-shirt and ***-less chaps.
