Any food that comes from the earth is good for you. Food that comes in a box is bad. Got it?

Yes.

It's three things: taste, share of stomach, and share of wallet.

1) they taste great, so you'll eat them, unlike a putrid protein bar.

2) they are good for you b/c they contain antioxidants in high concentrations, but so does almost any fresh fruit grown in sunshine... which is most fresh food, right? They have some chemicals that aid in weight reduction (rasps) and anthocyanins (heart health, blackberries), but research on these is thin at best.

3) As for the economics, there are cheaper good foods than buying Peruvian fruit flown into Whole Foods. Stick with stuff that grows around where you live. People really ought to eat more apples and carrots...

They are great cancer fighters and not to mention great fiber. You want a lot of fiber in your diet to pull the toxins and waste out.

Yes, definitely. Lots of anti-oxidants and other nutrients, and perhaps best of all, they can be substituted for desserts and other things that are definitely not good for you!
