Suppose you had to fight a Sumo one on one, in a hand-to-hand match, there are no rules save that the option to run away does not exist and it is of course hand-to-hand. How would you win the match? Winning consists of grounding or subduing your opponent here. You get first 'move'.

I would try a beltless arm throw-it seemed to work well sometimes for the size-challenged but judo-inclined Mainoumi. Royce Gracie defeated Akebono with an armlock and Don Frye used a choke-hold during the former Yokuzuna's not so succesful MMA career. Any strike above the belt with an open palm is within the rules in Sumo, so I wouldn't plan on knocking over a sumo wrestler with a palm heel, etc.-they get slapped upside the head for a living and know how to protect their faces.
I have seen Terao knock his opponent silly with a well placed palm heel to the temple however. Once I saw Konishiki get his hand on Terao's face so Terao bit the big guy's thumb. Konishiki pushed him out and just shrugged off the gash on his thumb.

I would strike the vital spots which are meant to kill or KO the opponent. Like palm heel strike to the nose instantly killing him or spear hand him to the neck where he will no longer be able to breath. Or if you just wanted to KO him maybe a strike to the knee knocking him to the ground and then finishing with a Axe kick to the head. Try not to get to close while doing this because they could grab you and then your done.

Use your fingers, and fast, you can stick your fingers in any number of places and use your opponents' weight against him - up his nose, in his eyes, or his ears, etc, he might break your arm when he fell but getting him to fall would not be too much of a hassle
