That's right, it was the only choice.
Except for Zoroastrianism, Hindism, Buddhism, Taoism, Shinto, ancestor worship, Shamanism, pantheism, the Greek and Roman religions, Mithraism, all of those mystery religions, Judaism, Gnosticism, Manichaeism, etc.
Other than those, all of which happen to predate Christianity, it's always been the only choice.

Uhh...Christianity has never been the only choice. Think Judaism or Islam or Greek mythology or Roman mythology or Ancient Egyptian gods. All of these (I'm not positive about Islam) are older than Christianity. Since Chrisitianity was created after all of these other religions, there has always been a choice other than Christianity.

Christianity has never been the only choice. Other religions were made thousands of years before Christianity and will continue to be made thousands of years after. Which religion is "best" is completely irrelevant, for all major religions are basicly preaching the same things: peace, equality, etc so lets not judge religions by which is best until we find out which ones' view of the afterlife is right. but we're not finding out until we're dead....and by then its too late.

Christianity is still only one choice, and if you want to have the fullness of truth, you must be Catholic. Christ spoke of the Church he would build, not churches. Everything in the Bible points to the Catholic church, and I would love to answer any questions you may have. I will answer in a polite, caring, and friendly way. You can ask any question at all about the Catholic Church and faith. If you like, you can email me at philinaberdeen@gmail.com Thank you.

Best to look for truths within each religion. God is one and He has many names Krishna,Allah, Jehovah, etc. They all have some truth but many misinterpretations. Krishna says in the Gita
"Whenever there is a decline in religious principals and the truth appears to be lost I appear again and again or send my representative to reestablish the truth."
The most recent empowered son of God is Bhaktivedanta Praabhupada who came to the western world to reestablish the truth. He does not say change your religion but change your consciousness. Read Bhagavad-Gita As it is and understand the truth of all religions Go to www.stephen-knapp.com for universal truths.

It was never the only choice. The world has had many religions. There were many religions before Christianity, and there have been many ever since.
Though, none are the "best" since there are no gods.

Religious Capitalism, more choices means a better individual fit. Soon they'll have religious temples/church/mosque malls, where you shop for the most appropriate faith du jour. (Atheists will go meet at TGIFriday's.)
