...for almost every living specimen on this planet?
if we are created in "HIS" image, than how come we're not unisex too? & why only 2 different sexes? i know this is hard to comprehend, but why not 3? or 4? 5? or 41? what gives Christians?
& for those atheists out there, please view this question as a hypothetical, yet RHETORICAL question.

ok, let me be clear on this....
I DO NOT THINK GOD IS A HERMAPHRODITE! i'm just musing over how people think he is both & niether at the same time. i agree with some of those who posted the notion that God is male, & that there is also a Goddess, who (duh) is a female...

First of all, God is not a hermaphrodite. A Hermaphrodite is a creature that has both male and female sex organs. God has neither.
Second, I don't think there is any explanation as to why we are not 'unisex' as you say. but if you think about it there are many ways to look at it...but in one the human race might not exist if we were. it depends on what you really mean when you say unisex. I don't think we could ever know the answer to that question until God reveals it.
Thirdly, concerning multiple sexes...well, let's say, referring to your earlier thoughts, there IS a good reason we weren't unisex...I suppose, considering the fact that people these days have problems dealing with relationships on a 2 sex basis...it would be chaos with more than that.
I wouldn't worry so much about why there are only 2 sexes and not 1 or 5 trillion. God made us the way we are and that's all there is to it. You have to realize that if you just go around criticizing God's works and why He doesn't do everything that you hypothesize could be better or simply different...you're never gonna find peace or joy in the world that is.

We are created in His spiritual image, not His physical image.
Gender is a mechanism for physical procreation. God does not procreate, He creates. God is neither male nor female nor hermaphrodite. Pronouns are assigned for human convenience and in a male-dominated society, God becomes a He.
As for the 2-gender scheme, it allows for genetic diversity. And a 41-gender procreation mechanism would stand little chance of success due to the awkwardness in getting 41 individuals available and in the mood at the same time.

There are some creatures that are genuinely hermaphrodite and others that can change sex when conditions are right. Transsexuals believe they are mentally one gender trapped in the body of the opposite gender, it's a confusing world...I wonder how a God copes with his unisex uni-gender condition, what sort of psychological counselling would be available

Why do you think God is a hermaphrodite? In the Bible He is constantly referred to as He, Him, and Father. All of those are masculine terms. He's never referred to as She, Her, Mother. And there are 2 sexes because He first made Adam (man) and decided that it wasn't good for Adam to be alone so He created someone to be compatible with Adam, Eve (woman). Man and woman were created to fit one another. I don't really know where a 3rd, 4th, or 5th sex would fit in. I'm sure God could make it that way if He wanted to but that apparently isn't the case.

1) His is a human concept God is an It
2) God may be hermaphroditic or sexless, no one knows
3) We are the way we are because God decided that it was best. The actual why's of that I do not know and God isn't giving me any answers. What I am hearing is there is variety that you are not noticing, the variety found in natural born hermaphrodites, eunuchs, gays, lesibians, celibates, transgender people.
For procreation purposes and child rearing the two people of differing dynamics seems a pretty good way of going about it. But that is just my opinion.

Here is how it works. Vedic understanding- God made man and women. There is one Male God who has a Female counterpart (Goddess) If one is a man and thinks of a woman at the time of death, in his next life he will become a woman. If he is still attached to his previous body he may still have attraction to women. (now lesbian) and If a woman thinks of a man at the time of death she becomes a man and if still attached to the previous body she may still have attachment to men (gay male) But according to scripture they are not supposed to act sexually with the same sex. Its just the law of nature. It keeps one in the bodily conseption of life and taking birth after birth You have to understand karma and reincarnation to get the whole picture.
