I am a guy but have really long hair. A lot of the time girls seem to hate it and avoid me. I have a girlfriend right now that likes it but ever since I started growing it out its almost as if they avoid me. Is there some certain length for a guy to grow his hair and still be cool?

It has to be really nice hair, healthy and shiney or don't even bother. It must all be the same length or if it is long and curly you can have layers. I am in no way advocating a mullet in any form. Use herbal essences, it's a great conversation starter - something in common - and attracts women like flies. One of my old boyfriends had red hair down to the middle of his back - herbal essenses works for me, just use something with an intoxicatingly yummy smell. Also, no dandruff, and don't trim it yourself. Oh yeah, you CANNOT be balding in any way! I can't stress that enough (skullet)...

I read in an article recently that if a guy can make his hair into a ponytail, it's too long.
That said, hair length (as well as virtually any physical appearance) is a matter of preference. Some women love long hair... just look at Fabio. (just kidding!)

Whatever floats your boat...but my personal preference is for only "biker dudes" if you know what I mean, to have long hair. Otherwise, it just doesn't look right. I like shaggy hair if you'er talking about length, but farther than that, I don't prefer.
Btw, I don't HATE long hair, lol ^_^ Is it longer than you're girlfriend's hair?

From my personal experience I can say that girls like guys with a clean cut. I don't really fell comfortable among guys with long hair because for me it's not menen.I look at them as people who neglect themselves. It's not even fashionable anymore.The lenght for me personally is short, really short.

I hate long hair on a guy...any longer than a couple of inches and it starts to creep me out. Sorry!

They gp away b/c long hair doesn't really fit a guys look it more like shorter hair maybe you should get yours cut into a short style of some kind

I think how long you hair is should reflect your personality. If you enjoy the length keep it! Just keep it well groomed and shampooed.

If your girl now has no problem with it then why worry a person loves you for who you are not what you look like.I personnally dont care what my partner does with his hair aslong as it is clean and tidy

It has nothing to do with being "cool". Grow your hair as long as you like, just be yourself, do not let "cool" dictate your life. I sure as hell have not.
