It depends why you are using it. It is the meditation of the heart that determine good or bad, right or wrong.
If you use it so you can be less careful in making choices about sexual activity and the consequences/potential consequences of your choices it is bad.
If you are making well thought out choices and use it to prevent becomming a parent before you are ready or in some cases as disease protection It is good.

Birth control pills can be used to prevent pregnancy and to help women with terrible periods. It can be a lifesaver for some women. I think it is fine to use the as a way to "control birth." I do not feel that using birth control is a form of abortion (some people I talk to do). You can choose how your body reacts to the pill by choosing a pill with different amounts of hormones. Pills higher in progestin cause a thickening of the uterus lining which prevents egg implantation and hinders sperm movement, while ones higher in estrogen prevents ovulation (so no egg is released). This gives you options when choosing a pill if you have certain beliefs about taking one.
I am also in support of using condoms as a method of birth control. Persons who are having sexual intercourse need to have sex in a responsible manner. Condoms prevent sexually transmitted diseases as well as sperm/egg fertilization.
I do feel its wrong when our legislators are talking about taking away our rights to use birth control because of the fact that not all women use it as a method of preventing pregnancy. It isn't used just for sex. However, they never consider stopping the use of Viagra. Viagra is used only for sex. (Not that I'm against Viagra at all...it's just a side point).
So, in other words...no, I do not feel its "wrong" to use oral contraceptives.

I see absolutely no problem with taking birth control. It keeps you from getting pregnant before you are ready. And it can help any number of things. Most of the people I know who are on birth control are on it for things other than pregnancy prevention. I have a friend who is on it for her back, I have several friends who are on it to regulate their periods, and I know a few people, including myself, who are on it to control a genetic condition. As far as the guy who said that we shouldn't be pumping ourselves full of hormones, the hormones in birth control tend to help women, not make them worse.

I do not think birth control is wrong to take. It doesn't "kill" eggs or babies. It prevents the woman from ovulating by imitating pregnancy. (Women do not ovulate during pregnancy, hence the lack of periods.) One could argue that birth control saves children since a woman will not lose an unfertilized egg during her period.

birth control is acceptable to all people of all races unless you are the of the Catholic faith. once again they misteach the Bible and say birth control is not an acceptable thing in their faith. because the bible it said to be fruitful and multiply. so since you have asked it under the regilion and spirituality section i am viewing this question in that manor. so yes birth control in the world we live in which can not feed all the starving, where religious believes are causing so much pain. its a individual christian responsibility to decide for themselves whether its acceptable or not. when Adam and eve where commanded to be fruitful and mutiply they were the first, not over the 3 billion on earth we are today.

I'm not against birth control. However, I am against birth control pills. Pumping yourself full of hormones is not a good idea. Would you want to be friends with a man injecting himself with testosterone? Estrogen will just make women weaker.

I believe that sex is sacred. We all came from a sexual act. Sex to me symbolizes the generative power of the Divine and the creation of the universe. Sex is also one of the great pleasures of life. I believe that the Divine wants us to have pleasure in our lives. Sex balances out our energy. Finally, it literally makes love. If we have sex with a loving partner, every time we do our love increases. Sex is one of the most powerful spiritual experiences we can have, because, if done right, we join with another person body and soul.
You have the power to decide for yourself whether or not you want to have babies. That's between you and whatever Divinity you believe in. If you decide not to but still to continue having this ritual of love with a loving partner, go for it.
So, go ahead and take birth control pills!

Birth control is fine. Much better than abortion. Not something that needs to be pushed on school kids by teachers though.

If you choose to be sexually active and don't want to have a baby or contract a STD then using birth control/contraception is not only necessary but prudent.
