I'm 19. i live on my own. i have no family or friends that could help me in anyway. i just got laid off from my job that i was barely making enough money in the first place. i am severely clinically depressed and on meds. now that i have no job i don't know if i can afford my meds anymore. i have not gone to therapy for about a year because of the high cost but i really think i need it. i feel like im all alone, i feel so much more comfortable when i can talk to someone and they can give me professional advice. is there any place that offers free therapy or very very cheap therapy?i dont want to become self destructive again but with each passing day i feel like im slipping farther and farther away from self control.

I think it's great that you recognize that you will benefit from therapy.

The good news is that you can apply for Government subsidized healthcare to pay for your Therapist and Medication until you get back on your feet.

In order to apply, you can visit your local state DSS (department of social services) website. Just google " department of social services." Get the number, call them and tell them what you told us and they will help you.

A friend of mine did this recently and she's getting the healthcare she needs for herself and her son.

good luck

yes! There are ministries that offer inner-healing and deliverance. Some depressions are spiritual. You say you have no family, I have a wonderful family, my sisters and brothers in the church I attend. There is a ministry called Evangel in Roseville, Michigan that can help you. Their phone number is 1-586-773-6568. Call them! Get healed! Look on the web under deliverance from depression. I've seen several good teaching ministries. Todd Bentley is one, I forgot the web address. Check it out, it can't hurt, all you've got to lose is your depression!

Hi Kitty, how are you? I often wonder what would happen to me if I ever felt like you and it is scary. Aren't there places you can go to to meet people and to be taken care of? Is it possible to go to a monastery, or some such place? Don't we have places like the Jewish Kibbutz, where you can go to live and work and just be around people? Often I feel like cutting out and going to some such place, but are there any places like that? My responsibilities really get me down some times, looking after my family, working, cleaning, cooking, shopping, even throwing out the trash sometimes feels like too much. Isn't there somewhere I can go to? Isn't there somewhere you can go to? I'm sure there must be, and if there isn't how about getting some sort of a place like that together, it would be a great job, and you'd really be appreciated by so many people, like you, like me. Take care of yourself.

well i guess it depends on alot of different situations. what made you depressed? why do you think you need profecianal help? why do you think you cant get friends? these are all questions you have to ask yourself but before you can answer them you must always and honestly be open to yourself. Fooling yourself into believing something sometimes is easier then figuring it out and fighting through it. Which in the process of doing this you will realize that when you start overcoming obsticles little by little you find out who you are and how to make yourself even stronger.

Kitty, most communities have mental health centers that offer free or sliding scale fees for those with mental illness. Contact your nearest mental health center. Good luck
