If you eat late (after 7PM is a good example) you usually don't do any form of exercise to burn off the calories you eat which can lead to weight gain. If you eat anything late you should make sure it is healthy and low in calories, choose an apple instead of cake for dessert for example, or if you eat a late dinner make it a light one or just a big salad.

Eating before you go to bed? The body has a lot of work to do to digest the food we eat. If we eat late, the body has to overwork to digest it but it can't so it just sits there. It has worked all day and needs rest. It can't rest when it works overtime. You won't sleep well and will gain weight cause the body just can't handle it. So, the answer is, no.
