Well, I'm a freshman and I'm going out with a senior (but technically he should be a junior), so I think it really all depends on how close you are maturity-wise. If you two are close enough mentally, then age is really not a big factor. Some people might be like "oh, that's crazy" when they hear about a freshman and a senior, because it sounds like a big difference. But think about if you were 22 and he was 25. Not that big, is it?
I think he might like you. Just keep flirting with him and see where it goes. Become even better friends with him, and maybe he'll ask you out! Or, if you feel courageous, ask him to a movie or something yourself.

Your problem is that as o NOW you both are minors but when he turns 18 soon he will be an adult as far as the law is concerned.
There are now cases of dating in such age differences and later the male (or older of the two) getting changed with rape, child incest, etc. He really is at risk, especially after he reaches 18 and than you still like each other. 4 years is not a lot of difference in age, and most marriages (like my two daughters; both were 5 year solder than their hubbies) have 2 to 5 years age differences .
But until you reach 18 or what ever the legal age is your guy really is at risk.
If you're on a date and get stopped by a cop (while drinking or they could charge your friend for contributing to the delinquency, and if you had sex certainly for some sex crime.
Good luck

I dont think it would be wise, 14 year olds are not in the same place mentally or emotionally as a 17 yr old is, I would say Ok if you were 16 and he were 19 but as it stands nowI would have to say not a good idea.

Im english so I think things may be different over here but when I was a teen I always had older b.friend as the ones my age were all idiots...I dont think age relly matters, well sorta when your at sch but its only a problem if you make it one!
I always looked older than my yrs, when I was 15 I dated a 21yr old, ok I told him I was 18 that was untill he came to my mums hse and saw my recent sch photo(dated) on her wall.....opps.
I know its horrible when you like a boy and you dont know how they feel, its better to come straight out with things and ask him how he feels. If he feels the same then well done but if he doesn't then at least you know.
good luck

Yes, but even being a mere three years apart is like a decade to a freshman trying to date a senior. You two are on different intellectual levels.

well flirting doesnt mean too much he could just be bored and him being 17 he might but if he would he would be able to maninulate your mind and mold you how he wants to so if u think you want to strung along like a puppet go for it but i would leave it alone because your at 2 different stages in life

That's a big age difference in high school. His buddies would make fun of him if he started dating a freshman. You are too young for him. And you are too young to date.

Its possible, but when you're that young a 3 year age difference is a huge space.

Of course it's not that much of a diference and I think that you shouldn't be thinking about age that much. As long as you are confident in yourself and feel good around him evrerything will work out fine. Good luck!
