My friend got a nose job to help her breathing. She looked fine before and still looks fine.

I have worked around a lot of well to do people and they can afford plastic surgery for vanity purposes and nose jobs seem to be popular among the women. It is too bad because sometimes the doctors do a very bad job and the person ends up looking worse than ever, think about Michael Jackson. I have seen many women with caved in looking noses and it makes me cringe that they had that done to themselves. I wouldn't have the surgery unless I really needed it for breathing issues or my nose was deformed somehow. If I did have surgery I would get a doctor who had a good track record, I would need to see before and after photos of his previous patients. Good luck, and don't worry about what other people think, it is your nose, do what you want to it.

Since I had it done about 9 months ago, I'd have to say I'm very supportive of the choice for many reasons:
- unlike breast augmentation (and I'm NOT knocking it!), rhinoplasty often involves fixing something unchangeable and highly noticeable (no covering up a nose!), so may people do it for themselves only, not to impress others
- it can help quite a bit with breathing and snoring
- it's safe, provided the surgeon is experienced
- it's not going to "break the bank" - most it would cost should be around 9k, but many doctors do it for 3k as a "compliment" to surgery for a deviated septum which can be billed to insurance
- there's no difference looking in the mirror; you still recognize yourself, just better!
In my case, I had a lot of support, and it made all the difference. It's odd to think of myself as a surgery-girl, but when someone loves what they change for the better, it's easy to be proud of the choice.

Rhinoplasty surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.
Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

There is nothing wrong with someone wanting to have a few procedures. Its really a personal matter, and while the results might be "public".. its really no ones business. As long as the person who got the procedure is happy with the results, thats all that matters.

Two of my close friends had their noses done and they cam out really well. I thought they were beautiful before they had the work done so it didn't change my perception of them. But I think one is enough, but it horrifies me that so many women go under the knife more than once to alter what God gave them, like his work wasn't good enough.

One of my friends had it done and she feels a whole better about herself. I think alot of plastic surgery is unnecessary, but if you look deformed then do the surgery especially if it makes you happy.

Not a friend but a co-worker.
He hated his nose because it kinda hung down low towards his lips....he thought it looked worse than it actually did.
The "after'' looked very nice and it made a really big difference in his appearance.
