It can be difficult at times, but if your college studies were never difficult, you probably didn't learn as much as you should have. Then that incompetence leads to shoddy engineers who design shoddy bridges that fail and kill people.
Anyway, I digress. I think that studying either architecture or civil engineering can be very rewarding. It may seem like boot camp at times, but once you are finished you will have a degree that can launch a professional career that helps shape the world's infrastructure. Or you may find yourself in a career track that isn't quite related to civil/architecture; employers like engineering students for their quantitative skills, resourcefulness and work ethic.
So the bottom line is that engineering can be difficult even for those with great math aptitude, but the personal and professional rewards can well exceed those difficulties faced.

Things become difficult when we think of them as difficult. Ask why you want an engineering degree, and how much you want it. Being good in math doesn't make for a good engineer. Imagination is only a part of it, as creative design. Engineers are application scientists. Do you want to be one? I wanted to be one and now I design automated plant manufacturing systems. Lots of challenges, certainly difficult, but well worth it.

Nothing is difficult in this world.
Prepare yourself by concentrating on one thing at a time and you will achieve it.
